| Since the site of Otherkin Realms seemingly disappeared i assume this forum is its replacement under the same title maybe? Anyways i already recognize a few members names here well so some of you should already know me a either my username or Kalandria. I identify mostly with dragons, due to my souls origin and spending a few lives as different species of dragon, but having been many and remembering many i relate to a variety of different kin, not just one like most tend to do. Generally i weave in and out of otherkin communities but frequent each as much as i can, generally to help what newly awakened i can and for some interesting ideas and conversations that pop up. I have been awakened myself since birth, born knowing if you will so i have had a long time now to reflect upon who i am and my purpose now walking as a human being. Saying this, i am known by a variety of names, but just prefer to be called Kal. | |

| I think you're lucky you were born already awakened. In reality I think most are born that way but lose that opened part of their souls through human living. Maybe even memories of their childhood help reveal why they feel their differences. My mother was also a great help to my awakening, or my partial awakening. I had always known and felt I was different but if it hadn't been for my mother leaving it up to me to choose what I believed I probably would have taken longer to find my truth of soul.
What really lead to my awakening was the desire to serve dragons as a knight. I know that's kind of silly but I never considered myself as a dragon back then because I never considered that I could be one. Someone else pointed that out on a forum called Ambers Message Board or Dragon Board I'm not sure which now. Later I also met a mentor there name Safir who was an interesting person, a little insane but maybe her insanity gave her insight. I met a number of peers then who were good friends now they aren't really friends but I will remember who they used to be. One thing I can say though is that no one can tell you who you are they can only guide you to find it yourself. So for anyone new to being Kin rely on your inner knowledge and instincts not someone else's.

| Admittedly i probably wouldve retreated back into my shell at an early age if not for my mother. She had known from her mid years she had been an elf at some stage. Through her guidence i was shielded from my father's religious influence growing up and formed my own path. I owe a hell of a lot to her, even in spirit she is still with me, it will only be a matter of time before i meet her again. It is the biggest blessing to have a mother that nurtures their child with an open mind and soul, there should be more parents like it.
My friend Kyle had a similar feeling before he awakened in himself, he felt the need to serve before he realized he had actually been one, strangely enough for the same reasons as you.
